While I am not convinced but the New York Post claims that the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission are considering of an antitrust inquiry against Apple over disallowing cross-compilers for the iPhone and iPad.
Apple changed the developer agreement to prevent devs from using any other programming languages in recent iPhone OS SDK tightening devs to use C, C++ and Objective-C, as prescribed by Apple.
Apple’s new iPhone OS 4 SDK Section 3.3.1 of the developer agreement reads, “applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs.”
Well, we will have to wait and see if validity rumor very soon.
