Apparently the guy named Max Shay was able to connect an external hard drive with his iPad. This makes camera connection kit even more useful accessory and the pricing of $29 is justified. For connecting your external drive to iPad your iPad must be jailbroken with Spirit. In addition to Camera Connection Kit you will need a split-USB cable, and a terminal like MacBook to run few commands on the iPad.
