Finally wait for untethered Spirit Jailbreak for iDevice is over. Comex confirmation came via twitter a while ago that Spirit indeed is released. Spirit is available for both Windows and Mac OS X and you can download respective version at spiritjb.com. It is a simple one click app similar to Blackra1n which can jailbreak any Apple iDevice. With Geohot in no mood to release his jailbreaking tools for the iPhone and iPad anytime soon, everyone have been keeping close eye on Spirit for quite a while now. Spirit was supposed to be released last Friday but the release was hold off for few more days to make sure new iPad 3G owners would have time save their SHSH blobs.
Below are the Requirements for Spirit:
- Spirit is an untethered jailbreak for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch on firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3, and 3.2
- An activated device: one not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
- Any version of iTunes 9 (including 9.1.1).
- Spirit will not unlock your iPhone
- Syncing with iTunes before trying this highly recommended.
- Note: On iPad, all this is still sort of beta. Some packages in Cydia, not designed for iPad, might screw up your system and require you to restore. Be careful. (And no, Cydia’s appearance is not final.)
